Thoughts

2nd round

The second round of Brucella serology results came back from the CDC last week.  Once again my result was  <20 (less than twenty) which is considered negative.  Whoohoooo!!  I was starting to stress a bit about it if the truth be told.  I kind of feel like I am in the clear at this point even though we will be monitored until November.

The Brucella exposure made me a bit hesitant about signing up for the IBJJF NY Summer Open, but I went ahead and did it anyway.  If I was loaded up on antibiotics, I would have still competed, but I'm sure it wouldn't have gone well for me.  Not that being antibiotic free is any guarantee of success, but it certainly will not hurt.  My training has been going well the past few weeks.  I have been focusing on some things that needed attention and stepping up my cardio and lifting.  Hopefully it will be enough.

A bunch of my teammates will also be competing at this tournament.  It looks like Julie, Laura, Marc and Ethan as well as Brian will all be fighting.  Everyone of them has been training hard and really pushing the pace.  I feel like I can safely say this since they all have been smashing me in training lately.  It would be great if we all did well next week. We shall see what happens.
