Thoughts

moving

The past couple weeks, I have been preparing to move, which is the reason why I've been a bit lax about posting here.  To me, when you move you have a prime opportunity to pare down the stuff you own.  Every night after work, training or the gym I have been sorting all my stuff and determining what to keep and what to toss.  I've made multiple trips to my cousins house on his trash nights to put stuff out as well as putting things out on my trash nights.  I've gotten rid of both small and large items that are old, worn or no longer needed.  It actually feels pretty satisfying to look around to see the crap gone and most of my stuff packed and ready to go.

There are a few large items left to toss out like my washer, a table, a mattress and box spring and a dresser and a few other large things which I am keeping but these will require a truck so I'll take care of them on moving day.  I was thinking I will break up the dresser and burn it in a bonfire which will save me from having to move it.  Even though sorting things and getting rid of shit is satisfying, moving is still a real pain in the ass. From finding a place to renting a truck, packing and unpacking it all, it can be a real hassle. Hopefully it goes smoothly for me when its time to go.

However...the BEST part of moving is after you toss the crap and are all moved.  Then you can go about replacing all the stuff you have gotten rid of with new stuff!
