Thoughts

Static

No position or guard in jiu-jitsu is a static position and conversely no position or guard is the end all be all position.  Each is are meant to be used as some sort of transition to the next position, with the ultimate goal being the finish or submission.  Even closed guard isn't a static position, although it affords the most opportunity for a few extra seconds to catch your breath or recover your wits.  I forget all of this sometimes, not intentionally, but because I'm not as fully versed and skilled in technique as I would like to think I am.

I've come along way from the places I've been and depths that I had sunk, but there is so much more to do.  I'm hard on myself for this reason, I guess I'm making up for lost time or maybe I'm finally am aware of my potential.  Either, Or...Quitting is never an option, and failure is part of the scientific process, it's how you make improvements

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
