Thoughts

sunshine state of mind

My next tournament is in two weeks time.  As of my writing this there are 65 people in total (all divisions) registered for the tournament.  In the division I normally compete at, Master 2, there are two guys, one at 85 kilos, and the other at 62 kilos. Down in the Master 1 division, there is only one entrant who is at 62 kilos.  Unless more people register in my division, I will probably sign up for the adult division at my weight which is not a big deal when it really comes down to it.  Most of the guys in my gym are in the adult division anyway, so competing against younger people won't be some new phenomenon for me.  The last day to register is 01/23/17 at 2359 (Abu Dhabi time).

Training has been going well, I have been focused but relaxed.  In the past two weeks I have started to pick up the intensity and pace of my movements, but I am still trying to approach everything analytically.  I have been having some really good intense and "flowy" (is that a word??) rolls with my teammates especially Julian, Julie and Rich.  Each of them plays a different game and they all are different sizes/body types so it has been making for a quality "training camp".  Brian also opened up the advanced class to more people, meaning there are fresh bodies to try my technique on.  Soon enough they will be up to speed, so I have been really trying to work them over with some new technique while I can.

The change in gyms and lifting programs seems to be helping.  I feel strong and have been moving with purpose.  Finally, my diet, which was shit over the holidays, has been coming around to where it needs to be.  So far I don't foresee any issue with making weight.

01/28 will be here before you know it...FL, here I come.
