Thoughts

still here.

I've been relatively quiet with my posts/activity lately.  My last competitive outing left much to be desired, so I thought about things for a bit and decided to change my approach.  I didn't too get down on myself or get frustrated.  When I stepped back and looked I realized the only thing that is stopping me from being better is me.  Once I figured that out I went to work.  I've changed my lifting program and have been making an effort to focus more in training.

My lifting had gotten sloppy and a change was needed.  If you are lifting but without a specific goal, why bother?  So I started going to a new branch of my gym and implemented a new program and lately my body has felt stronger and more resilient then it has in a bit.

In training I have been making an effort to come in with a clear mind and focus more on what I was doing.  More mat time does NOT translate to improved Jiu-Jitsu, it serves only to tire you out more, open you up for injuries and frustrate you with lack of progress.  Make your mat time quality time.  What you do with the mat time can really set the tone moving forward, and that's what I'm hoping.  And above all, stick to the script.
