update

I'm a bit dinged up today.  Sunday in training I caught a knee in my side mid pass which knocked the wind out of me and hurt like a bastard.  I caught it about 3 inches above my hip bone just under my ribs while I was hopping from one side of my friend to the other.  I managed to finish up that roll along with a few others but I was moving gingerly and over compensating for my side.  I popped a few Advil and a few beers and iced it up all Sunday after training.  I wasn't moving well at all and my girl had a field day busting balls at my expense.

Monday it felt a bit better.  I kept icing it and taking Advil, but every time I sneezed, laughed or turned my torso it hurt.  Today I did some cardio and trained.  I was still pretty sore but didn't go hard and protected it for the most part.  I was pretty hopped up on Advil also.  I will lift and train the rest of the week but I won't go 100% so it can heal a bit more.

Speaking of being dinged up...Rich smashed his finger in training today.  At first it was thought to be dislocated as he popped it back in place after catching it in someones Gi, but it turned out to be more then that.  He reset it right there on the mat but got up and went to the on-call right away.  I didn't see the finger while it was crooked, but i saw it after and it was swollen up and purple.  The X-rays at the on-call revealed a spiral fracture and a halfway decent reset job by Rich.  It sucks that he is injured, he is a good training partner and we always have some intense battles.  Hopefully he won't be out too long.

This coming Saturday we are going to the new academy location to paint.  I'm excited since it means we will be moving in soon and since I have only seen pictures of it and haven't been there.  Hopefully it won't take to much longer for us to get in there full time.
