Thoughts

6 nations

I've been a bit under the weather this past week.  I am feeling run down, achy, slightly nauseous and had a constant headache.  It has been nothing which has prevented me from going to work or from training, but it's enough to make me cranky and annoyed.  I'm sure the fact that this has been one our coldest and windiest weeks to date hasn't helped either.  Spring and warm weather can't come soon enough.  If I had the jack, I'd spend a few days in Boca, except I don't.  Being financially challenged gets rather annoying sometimes.

Training has been going well (I think), as I feel like I am making some progress in my problem areas.  Its not just mat time which gets you better, its quality mat time.  Their are certain guys I like rolling with more then others, guys who push me and give me different looks.  I don't mind getting beat/tapped out/dogged etc.  I just hate when guys get all spazzy and are diving and jumping all over (I have been guilty of this, but have made an effort to not do it).

This week and last week, somehow I managed to get some No-Gi work in.  Hopefully I can get another session in this week.

My spring tournament schedule is starting to form up.  I had some grandiose pans at the end of last year and earlier this year but shit happens.  NAGA is coming up in a month, so I'll do that. A month after that is the IBJJF NY Open, with the following week being the IBJJF Boston Open.  It'll be a busy 2 month span.  I'd like to squeeze another one in there somehow, but I've yet to work out those details.  A sponsor would be nice right about now.   How about Mr. Subb and Powers Whiskey?

Other notes...I've been getting into Rugby as of late.  I read a few Irish newspapers, and they always have coverage so I figured I'd give it a shot.  Its an interesting game, and I'm just staring to get the hang of it.  My sister knows the game well and has been patiently answering my questions.  The 6 Nations tournament is on and I've been religiously watching it.  Much better sport then the NFL, which I've given up on...Frito Pie is the best stuff to eat ever.  Everyone should try it.  I've been a total fat kid today and yesterday, but I figured to enjoy myself before its time to cut some weight.
