Small Steps

Made some progress in my passing game today!  Hopefully I can maintain the momentum when I get back in to training later in the week.  I have been really relying on my knee slice pass  and knee slice to cross choke in the past month.  I've made some tweaks, got some tips and pretty much played it out.

Today I came into training with a new plan of attack.  Since I have been playing with the knee slice for a while, it kinda stopped working since everyone knows it is coming.  I have been watching some of Tanquinho's passing DVD on Digitsu and picked up a few moves which will go hand in hand with my knee slice.  Somehow I managed to work both of the new passes into training tonight along with the knee slice which has to be respected now that is has some backup.  The highlight of my night was a beautiful knee slice to the opposite side against a bigger stronger blue belt during randori.

Maybe dislocating my toe was a small blessing in disguise.  In order to protect my toe/foot, which plays heavily into my guard game, I have not been playing guard.  It seems to have really forced me off my back and into passing situations.  Small steps
