Thoughts

cardio? more like cardiac.

Shit was clicking there for a bit, really starting to come together.  I was in a good rhythm, training hard and my technique was looking good (I thought).  And then I got smashed.  I could not do a single thing right in training yesterday.  Could not hit the sweep I was hitting for the past week and a half, couldn't finish from mount, couldn't prevent the guard pass...yup it was ugly.  I felt like this guy.  Pretty much everyone smashed me.  I'm going to chalk it up to the semi-new cardio routine I started this week catching up with me and try to stay focused and positive.

The new cardio routine consists of changing the length, speed and time I spend on my interval running.  I incorporated interval running into my program a long time ago and it definitely helped, but this week I think I got a little too crazy.  I saw this article in BJJ Eastern Europe and gave it a whirl.  Trying it out kicked my ass and then because I was so drained, everyone in class kicked my ass.  Once I do it a few more times I'm sure it will get easier and I'll be in even better shape.  Tomorrow is a strength and conditioning day so hopefully it will turn out a bit better.
