Catch up

Passed that Mf’n class with a B+. It was a nice way to start the past week and a half…But I won’t lie, it had me a bit vexed, and at one point it wasn’t looking good. That’s three “B+’s” in a row, it’s almost like I know what the fuck I’m doing. My next class is picked out and registered for and it’s not Python, so that will be a change. However it will be HTML/XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript, so it should still be pretty challenging.

Somehow I even made it in to Jiu-Jitsu these past two Sundays. I should start to be more consistent on the mats starting this coming week. My cardio isn’t terrible, but it’s not great, and my technique is about as sharp as a box of marbles, but that will be fine too. The only thing I’ve been consistent with lately other than school is lifting (mainly because it takes no brain power to push/pull weights). Just gotta to keep the momentum going and the rust will hopefully fall off.

On the work front, I’m still there. Nothing has changed in my ongoing job hunt though, as I’m still at it. We have managed to finally publish our paper, in the journal “Letters in Applied Microbiology”, after about two years of effort. It’s kind of like a novelty, it looks good but won’t help me move up, although it might help me get into another company.

My last remaining Aunt on my fathers side died this past Saturday. Her passing was very sad, she was a good woman, nice as pie, and will be sorely missed. She was the one who got me hooked on drinking tea when I was about 7. I actually lived with her and my uncle for a summer while helping him with his morning paper route, when their son, my cousin was in Ireland. My father is now the last surviving one of six siblings. It’s probably pretty depressing for him, and I feel bad for him. He is a tough bastard and will pull through. He was in Vietnam , so I’m sure he’s been in worse places mentally.

Our next trip is planned and booked to Croatia, for August. It should be a good time and it’s somewhere I have been wanting to go for a few years. Hopefully before our trip I’ll have some new ink, that bug has bitten me again…
