This past Saturday was the Ammo fight league Grappling tournament.  Julie, Marc, Yogi, Charlie and myself all competed.  Everyone did O.K. for the most part, with all of us registering at least one win.  Yogi and Charlie competed in both Gi and No-Gi, while Julie and Marc only did the No-Gi.  I believe Julie and Marc were also supposed to compete in the Gi also but didn't want to wait around any longer.  Unfortunately for everyone, even though the tournament was small, unsurprisingly they were running behind schedule.  I can't say I blame them for leaving, it was a long day with the drive, a long wait to compete and a speeding ticket for Julie.

As for myself, I had only entered in the 12 man Round Robin, Purple Belt Challenge.  The competitors were broken up into two pools, A and B, and faced each member of their respective pool once before the top two in the pool advanced to the semifinals against the top two competitors from the other pool.  The last two competitors faced off for in the final with a 500$ prize on the line.  Both the semi-finals and the finals produced some exciting matches, and I did get them all recorded.  I've posted the final match on YouTube here and will post the semi's shortly.

I had 5 matches in the space of 30 minutes in pool A.  The matches didn't go as well as I'd hoped but it wasn't as bad as it could have been.  I lost my first 17-0, won my second 25-4, then lost via arm-bar, choke and a shoulder lock.  In the grand scheme of things I did make some progress and did some good things.  There are definitely things which need to be addressed and worked on. At some point I will post my matches, losses included.

In my prior post I mentioned that there was a Brucella exposure for pair of coworkers.  Now the exposure has expanded to 12 individuals, some of whom are minimal risk, some low risk, and some who are on high risk.  As a result there are fever watches of one month, and up to 6 months for some individuals.  Those exposed will be monitored serologically for 24 weeks, with the testing being done down at the CDC.  Antibiotic treatment has been recommended for those in the high risk category, however most have waived this until the 6 week serology test results have come back.
