production

It was an extremely productive day.  Not that my days are normally unproductive, but today I went balls to the wall.

Training was unusually quiet this morning, the normal crowd wasn't there.  I'll chalk it up to the time change which tends to throw people off.  We started out with our normal drill, sweep to mount followed by a knee-elbow escape.  I tried to remember and implement the spider guard sweeps Brian taught me during my private last week.  For the technique of the day, we went over some sweeps from the de la RIva guard which will be pretty useful in the future.

I did some research on upcoming tournaments and checked if they were on days I work at the hospital.  There are three or four that I see that fit into my time frame.  After my last tourney, I wanted to take some time to improve by taking privates, varying my training times, taking some bjj training trips to the city before I picked up the intensity for tournaments.  Brian also gave me some things to think about during my private last week...keep focused, when you train do it with a purpose, pick a set of moves to work on when rolling with lower belts, don't be lazy.

After training, it was gorgeous outside, so I raked and picked up branches and prepped the area designated for the shed.  Later, we went and picked up the shed so we could stash it in the garage until it gets set up.

And if that wasn't enough, I decided to make sauce for a dinner later in the week.  I took a pork loin, sausages, cans of diced and crushed tomato and then mixed in some seasoning in a large pot.  This mixture went on the stove and has been simmering for the last few hours...the house smells delicious.
