Things have been relatively interesting lately.  I was hoping to jump back into work once I returned from my trip to Ireland and I did...mostly.  I worked a full week and since then its been a shit show of appliance shopping and deliveries, repairman appointments, a job interview,  and a jury summons.

The only consistent thing has been my Jiu-Jitsu training.  Thankfully I have been able to get in consistently and keep focused.  I'm still hoping to compete in one more tournament before the end of the year so being able to train has been very important to me.

I hadn't been really looking forward to getting back to work though (like anyone does). Because of the study/project I work on, there would be no easing back into work after 10 days off.  I basically had to start shopping for my study the first day back since no one covers my position if I am off.  Aside from this the first week went fine at work, except I ran out of money to shop with. Because I was doubling up my purchasing and work the three weeks before, I spent more then anticipated and went away before I could order a new check.  As a result of this I spent a week doing nothing work related other then being there which was a blessing in disguise.

While we were away, our refrigerator died.  So we went and shopped around and ordered a new one and had it delivered.   I took a few hours off to meet the delivery men, no big deal except the refrigerator they delivered looked a little bigger then the one in the store.  I went back to work, and after work tried to move the fridge into place.  No go, no amount of finagling was going to get it into place, it was definitely too big.  We called the store and first they tried to blame us but then admitted to sending the wrong one and scheduled a date to deliver the proper one (Wednesday) and pick up the incorrect one (Friday).  It seems like we were going to have two fridges for a few days.

Meanwhile, its getting closer to winter and our gas fireplace needed to be serviced.  That repairman could only show up M-F during business hours.  So I took an afternoon off to wait for him.  This was an easy fix, a few parts and a cleaning and it was working properly.

And then I had a call for a job interview, finally.  It was for an FDA inspector position located here, although it would involve some travel.  I felt the interview went ok.  It had been a few years since I had an interview and I was nervous.  Somehow I managed to answer all their questions without making a fool of myself.  It'd be nice to get this position, it would be something new to learn and a raise.  It was also nice to finally get a call for an interview.  In the past year I have applied for ton of positions and haven't heard anything up until now.

And to top off this two week stretch, I received a jury summons...
