Paddys

Feeling a bit under the weather this week which is kinda shitty...of all the weeks.  LOL.  I've been taking meds, and zinc religiously and trying to rest as much as possible since I felt it coming on. So far it hasn't become a full blown cold.

Saturday is NAGA.  I am feeling pretty good in terms of my strength and conditioning.  I'll lift tomorrow along with some agility drills.  Thursday will be my last training session before NAGA.  I won't go crazy but I will train hard.  Friday will be my usual off day and also the day of weigh-ins. Just gotta be under 169 lbs for welterweight (masters).  You never know how many matches you will get with NAGA since they don't post a fighter list, but two or more would be nice.  Ideally, I will win.  But as long as I learn something I'll be happy.  Also, the team title would be nice to come away with.  All the guys work hard as well as the coaches so it'd be nice to take the title in our town.

Speaking of St Patrick's day, I am taking it off from work.  Its the holiest of days and its good practice to never work on one.  I've got a private to schedule for 1030 and afterwards I'm going to meet my cousin Gerard to get lunch and to get beers and some Powers Whiskey.  Its should be a good day.  Oh and Sunday after NAGA, I am making corned beef and cabbage.

St Patrick's day was always HUGE in my family.  Well, actually the whole month was huge.  We would make soda breads, go to the A.O.H. hall for breakfasts and dinners, visit with my extended family and hit up the parade.  It was alot of fun, but when my grams passed on the family sort of splintered.  Its my plan to carry on the traditions and try to make it special even though she left us years ago.   My pops fell off, he doesn't do St Pats anymore, maybe it reminds him of his mother.  My cousins still do, and so does my sister in NYC, it'll be nice to see some of them.
