Solanum melongena
Dislocated my toe last night in training. Hurt like a bastard and it was crooked and swelled right up. I had thought it was broken since it was a sudden. sharp intense pain. This was reinforced by Brian saying, "I think the bone is popping out the bottom". Turns out it was only dislocated thankfully. Boston drove me to On-call where they X-rayed it, popped it back in and taped it up. Today my first two toes are nice and purple and look like small eggplants. Great...
For treatment they said I have to wear some sort of flat bottomed shoe/brace which they gave me to keep it from flexing along with taping it and the standard course of R.I.C.E and Advil. I'm gonna take a day or two off and then go back to train with my toes HEAVILY taped up. I will still lift but no legs and no running, I'll hit up the exercise bike in the meanwhile.
Being old sucks. Technically, I'm not old, but when you train with guys in their early 20's you are old. I have few regrets in life, one of them is wishing I discovered Jiu-Jitsu when I was alot younger and got injured less and recovered faster. Fuck it, that's life. And this is a combat sport. Make due with what you have.
