Thoughts

back in the swing

Today I feel like I'm fully recovered from my holiday and back in the swing of things regarding training and my strength and conditioning.  It took a few days to catch up on sleep, drop a few pounds and to sober up lol..  So far this week I've managed to lift 2x, do cardio 2x (outside of class) and get into training a few times also.  I went in on Sunday for the mixed skill level class, yesterday for both the intermediate and beginner class and barring some disaster, I'll be in tomorrow for both beginner and intermediate classes.  Maybe I will even do cardio beforehand too.

I try to make it a point to go to the beginner classes each week.  I'm definitely not so good where I can't work on basic skills and moves.  When I first started training, I was only able to go to class once a week due to my work schedule and my gyms class schedule.  Going once a week really won't advance your game much and you will (as I do) have holes in your game. Hopefully by going to the beginner classes I will be able to fill these holes and start to see my game become more well rounded and take off.

Speaking of game, yesterday I had a pair of great rolls with both Boston and Rich.  These guys are two of my favorite rolls in the class, not because I might get a tap, but because we are all close to the same skill level and we have back and forth battles.  On any given day rolling with these two, we will flow from position to position throwing attacks at each other going from one side of the mat to the other.   I'd like to think we are each moving like J.T. but somehow I'd bet it looks more like this...hahahah  No matter how it looks, for me at least its always a good pair of rolls with these two.
